Grimm's wood comes only from sustainably managed forests in Europe. Trees harvested include alder, linden, beech and maple. These are non-toxic water-based stains and a non-toxic vegetable oil finish. PLEASE NOTE: Grimm's does not use lacquer in an attempt to preserve the natural feel of the wood. Unvarnished blocks are also less likely to slip when used for construction. You will often notice that paint is sometimes transferred from one room to another. This is not a fault.
For maintenance, simply use soapy water with a damp cloth for cleaning. Dry immediately. Please do not immerse in water or use disinfectant or hot water.
